Description Handmade Amish upcycled semi-circular wooden birdhouse with reclaimed metal tin roof. They are made from reclaimed barn siding and roof tin. This birdhouse is made from reclaimed barn siding and reclaimed roof tin by the Amish in America. The barnwood that is used is sometimes in excess of 100 years old. Each house is handmade and has it’s own unique characteristics. This model is semi circular in construction and can be hung against a wall, fence or post by the hanging hole in the top.  The back has a door to allow clearing out at the end of the breeding season. The house is painted white and has either a red or green wood and tin roof. Inside is a sheet of tin to divide the space so that 8 nesting families can be accommodated – 4 inside the main house, plus a further 4 in the roof. There is 1 circular entry point to allow the bird to enter each section. A unique birdhouse that will have the birds racing back to your garden every year. B Green – some splits that have been fitted together with wood staples, this could be from the woods previous use as barnwood. Flaking paint, white mark on the roof and some scuffs in the wood. Door is also stapled. C Green – worn and flaking paint, a small hole in the tin on part of the roof, scuffs in the wood, back is stapled where the wood was starting to split. D Red – Flaking paint, scuffs, back is stapled where the wood was starting to split. E Red – Flaking paint, scuffs, back is stapled where the wood was starting to split., F Red – Flaking paint, scuffs, back is stapled where the wood was starting to split, plus a couple of holes in the roof from previous use. G Red – paint worn and flaking, staples in the back, scuffs. Please take time to view the photographs for each birdhouse.
