  2. Everest Forge – Ginunting Sword
    On Sale!
Please Note: It is common and standard for these handcrafted and hand-hammered swords to have to have wavy edges or blade spines, evidence of hammer blows and a higher degree of general asymmetry than what is our common standard. They are still functional and can cut well despite this asymmetry.  The Ginunting Sword from Everest Forge is a hand-forged blade recreating the famed deadliness of this iconic Filipino sword for collectors, cutting practitioners, and enthusiasts of historical edged weapons. Built with a strong, functional design rather than as a mere ornament, this sword delivers practical cutting power and the distinctive talon-like silhouette characteristic of the Ginunting. With a 21-inch blade, a total heft of 2 lbs 6 oz, and a point of balance around 4.75 inches from the guard, the sword provides a sturdy, well-balanced feel in hand, ideal for slicing, chopping, and brush clearing. The blade is forged from robust high-carbon steel and tempered to provide a resilient, wear-resistant edge paired with a dependable spine for shock absorption and durability under heavy use. The blade’s shape — broad near the hilt with a subtle taper toward the point — delivers enough mass for forceful chops. Whether used for cutting practice, field work, or as a display piece, the geometry lends itself to strong chopping motions. A full length tang runs through the handle and is riveted securely into a 4.75-inch hardwood grip, shaped to fit comfortably in the hand for control and stability. Its fully full-tang construction gives it a very tough overall construction. The balance and weight distribution allow for impactful and hard hitting strikes. Included is a thick leather sheath with stitched construction and a buttoned retention strap.
